Our Foundation
WE BELIEVE SPORT IS FOR ALL. Sport Oregon provides grants and conducts programs to support youth sports activities, with an emphasis on both underserved youth and increased physical activity. Learn more about our Foundation’s annual projects below.
SHE FLIES
SHE FLIES is inspired by a fundamental belief that, through sports, we learn to soar as confident individuals, team players, and strong leaders. Our mission is to connect girls and women across Oregon to sports, and create inclusive communities through our programs, partnerships, and networks. Through SHE FLIES, we want to foster safe spaces where all girls and women feel like they can take flight with the many positive benefits of sports participation. We also want to feed communities of encouragement, support active lifestyles, and grow spaces to connect with like-minded peers. We aim to build an even more inclusive and impactful sports community across Oregon. When girls are in, we all win.
WAVOR: The Game
After 25 years of tradition at the Northwest Shootout, the game ahs changed. Welcome to WAVOR. Washington vs. Oregon. The best of the Northwest. WAVOR The Game is the region’s only interstate high school all-star basketball game. Featuring the top female and male basketball players from Washington and Oregon high schools, WAVOR is the ultimate show of talent, competitive fire, and state pride. Since the beginning of the Northwest Shootout, this event has showcased accomplished high school seniors. Many players have gone on to prestigious college programs and professional careers. Oregon has always been the proud and enthusiastic host of the border battle, and this year is no different.
