UO Athletics to host Matthew Knight Arena open houses

The University of Oregon’s Athletics Department will host open houses for the new Matthew Knight Arena at locations throughout the state during the month of November.

The open houses will feature a hands on tour of the arena display center, where potential seat-holders can view the interactive displays, video fly-throughs and dimensional floor plans, sit in the arena seats and view a presentation with videos and illustrations of the arena seating bowl.

Oregon athletic staff and arena architects will also provide updates on the construction progress.

Each Monday at 4 p.m. through the end of January, the Athletics Department will host “Matthew Knight Arena Mondays” at the Len Casanova Center in Eugene.

Additional open houses include Nov. 3, 17 and Dec. 10 in Portland (White Stag Building, 9 a.m.), Nov. 12 in Bend (Pappy’s Pizza, noon), Nov. 12 in Redmond (location TBA, 5 p.m.), Nov. 16 in Prineville (175 NW Meadow Lakes Drive, 5 p.m.), Nov. 17 in Medford (Rogue Valley Country Club, noon) and Nov. 18 in Madras (Geno’s Italian Grill, 6 p.m.).

Matthew Knight Arena, future home of Oregon men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball and team stunts and gymnastics, is scheduled to open in January of 2011.
