Timbers announce MLS 2011 ticket details

    The Portland Timbers today announced additional details regarding the priority system and the deadline for the first round of 2011 Major League Soccer (MLS) season-ticket procurement.

    The Timbers, who were awarded the MLS’ 18th team Friday, are offering fans a number of options to secure season tickets for the team’s inaugural MLS season in 2011. Fans are encouraged to secure their 2011 MLS season tickets as soon as possible, as this round of deposits concludes following the Timbers’ home opener at PGE Park on April 30.

    The priority system is as follows:

    Portland MLS 2011 Season-Ticket Priority System

    Individuals who purchase 2009 and 2010 Timbers full-season tickets will have top priority for 2011 MLS season seat selection.

    Individuals who purchase 2009 and 2010 Timbers half-season and flex-plan ticket packages will receive second priority for 2011 MLS season seat selection.

    Those not purchasing 2009 and 2010 Timbers ticket packages described above can place a $50 deposit per seat for tertiary priority status, behind Timbers full-season, half-season and flex-plan holders.

    Similarly, business and entertainment suite-holders for the 2009 and 2010 seasons will have first priority to secure suites for the Timbers’ inaugural MLS season. For more information on business and entertainment suites, phone (503) 553-5432.

    “We have had a tremendous response since the MLS announcement was made on Friday, and it’s clear that Major League Soccer will be well-received in Portland,” said Merritt Paulson, owner and president of the Timbers.
