The Oregon Sports Authority, Portland Timbers, Alpha Broadcasting and TAOW Modern Marketing are teaming up to present free public viewing parties that offer thousands of area soccer fans the chance to share in the excitement of the 2010 World Cup as part of “Soccer City Celebration presented by McDonald’s.”
The World Cup final will be shown free of charge on a 17′ by 23′ LED screen at Pioneer Courthouse Square at 11:00 a.m. A beer garden will add to the festivities. Four years ago, nearly 10,000 people jammed into Pioneer Square to watch the 2006 World Cup Final.
