This annual basketball game is played under international rules and features the USA Basketball Men’s Junior National Select Team, comprised of the top high school boy senior players, playing against a World Select Team, comprised of top players 19-years-old or younger from around the world.
This year marks the Nike Hoop Summit’s West Coast debut at the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon. The first Hoop Summit was played in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 1995 and the 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2004 events were played in the city hosting the men’s NCAA Final Four. The FedExForum in Memphis, Tennessee housed the Nike Hoop Summit between 2004 and 2007.
The Hoop Summit has featured some of the NBA’s current stars including: Kevin Garnett, Dirk Nowitzki, Tony Parker, Jermaine O’Neal, Baron Davis, Elton Brand, Mike Bibby, Ron Artest, Rashard Lewis, Mike Dunleavy, Stephon Marbury, Martell Webster and Sergio Rodriguez.
