Lim aims for Winter Games
Rep. John Lim, R-Gresham, introduced a bill Tuesday to study possibilities and ways to bring the Olympic Winter Games to Oregon.
Passage of HB 2804 would allow Gov. Ted Kulongoski to appoint a task force to explore the logistics and feasibility. Lim said his target date for the Games would be 2022 or after. Bidding for the 2014 Winter Games and 2016 Summer Games already are under way.
Lim said he planned to work today to get a hearing for the bill scheduled. He introduced similar legislation in 1995.
