The Oregon Sports Authority Foundation (OSAF) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that believes in promoting a culture of healthy Oregonians through life lessons learned from sports and physical activity. The Foundation makes grants to community organizations whose work furthers the Foundation’s commitment to facilitate active participation in sports, physical education, and related programs, with an emphasis on opportunities for underserved youth across Oregon through advocacy, financial support, and program creation.

Grant Criteria:
All grant applications must adhere to and be consistent with the Oregon Sports Authority Foundation’s Mission Statement. Grants are not designed to be ongoing or annually designated funds. All grant applications shall be submitted annually, regardless of previous grant awards, and each application will be evaluated as an original submission.

All applications must be completed with all requested information and submitted by the established deadlines.

Deadlines for Submission:
The Oregon Sports Authority Foundation will review grants quarterly. The organization’s Funding and Grants Committee will review all completed applications and make recommendations to the Board at their next scheduled meeting, at which time the Board will vote.

January 1 – March 31 May Within 30 days of Approval
April 1 – June 30 August Within 30 days of Approval
July 1 – September 30 November Within 30 days of Approval
October 1 – December 31 February Within 30 days of Approval

The Oregon Sports Authority Foundation places a strong emphasis on the support of amateur sports programs, facilities, and events throughout Oregon with further emphasis on providing enhanced opportunities for Oregon youth sports participation.

Grants are made to organizations with the following attributes:
Mutually compatible mission with OSAF
Effective management
Sound financial practices
Sustainability

Grants are made to individuals with the following attributes:
Mutually compatible mission with OSAF
Sound business plan for the opportunity to be funded
