eUpdate – XTERRA Trail Running, OSAA Support, Wine Country Half and Race for the Cure

This Saturday, hundreds of runners from across the nation will run from Bend’s Old Mill District, along the Deschutes River and through majestic pine forests in the 2010 XTERRA Trail Running National Championship. The main event is a 13.1-mile off-road half-marathon with a $5,000 purse, and the day-long running celebration also features a 5k, 10k and free kids’ races. While the field will include elite competitors, participation in all races is open to the general public. Named “America’s Best Trail Running Town” by Outside Magazine, Bend is hosting the trail running nationals for the third straight year under a partnership between Visit Bend and the Oregon Sports Authority.
