eUpdate – World Indoor Track & Field Championships, USA BMX Nationals and Upcoming Events

Portland will become the center of the track and field universe this month as the 2016 IAAF World Indoor Championships take place on U.S. soil for only the second time in history, March 17-20 at the Oregon Convention Center.  Approximately 600 athletes from 169 countries around the globe will descend on Portland to compete for world titles and take the first step toward the Road to Rio and the 2016 Summer Olympics.  The action begins next Thursday evening with Opening Ceremonies and the men’s and women’s pole vault competitions, staged in a temporary 7,000-seat stadium inside the convention center.  Limited tickets to the World Indoors are still available – make your plans to help welcome the world to Portland!
