eUpdate – World Cup Party, Skate America, USA Cycling Nationals

    Join the Oregon Sports Authority at Director Park this Saturday to celebrate the 2010 FIFA World Cup as the U.S. takes on England in one of the most anticipated matches in the history of U.S. Soccer. “Soccer City Celebration” presented by McDonald’s will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the new Director Park at SW Park and Taylor in downtown Portland. The game will be shown live from South Africa on a picture-perfect 12′ by 17′ LED screen.

    A beer garden will add to the festivities, and at halftime the Portland Timbers will unveil their new Major League Soccer logo for the very first time as the club makes the move to MLS next season. Apparel from adidas featuring the new Timbers crest will be available after the logo unveiling.

    “Soccer City Celebration” also features several other viewing parties at area bars, and will culminate with the World Cup final shown live on a giant LED screen at Pioneer Square on Sunday, July 11. All of the viewing parties are free to attend – come experience the unparalleled pageantry, drama and intensity of World Cup soccer!
