    Witness Oregon sports history this weekend when the Portland Thorns FC host Seattle in the club’s inaugural National Women’s Soccer League home opener, Sunday afternoon at JELD-WEN Field. Portland’s newest pro sports franchise debuted Saturday in Kansas City, earning a 1-1 draw on a successful penalty kick from the foot of former University of Portland star Christine Sinclair. With nearly 7,000 season tickets already sold, Portland is poised to embrace the Thorns FC with all of the fervor one would expect in “Soccer City, USA.” The home opener is nearly sold out so get your tickets today!
