Dew Tour returns to Portland

The Dew Tour, the world’s premier season-long action sports tour, today announced its complete schedule for the 2010 season, which includes its return to Portland for the third stop of the five-city circuit. The only city that has hosted the Dew Tour since its inception six years ago, Portland’s Rose Quarter will once again be the site of the Wendy’s Invitational, August 12-15, and will feature the world’s greatest talent in action sports.

“After holding successful events in Portland for the past five years, it was obvious that it should remain the backbone of the Dew Tour,” said Chris Prybylo, Alli Vice President of Events and Dew Tour General Manager. “With knowledgeable and enthusiastic fans, we know that, as it always has in the past, the Portland event will be one of the great highlights of the 2010 Dew Tour.”

“As one of the original host cities, we couldn’t be more thrilled to host the Dew Tour again this year,” said Chris Oxley, General Manager of the Rose Quarter. “Action sports are the life blood of this city, and hosting the Dew Tour year after year only strengthens that legacy.”

“We’re proud to still be a part of the Dew Tour’s success,” said Drew Mahalic, CEO of the Oregon Sports Authority. “We’ve seen the Tour grow since the very beginning, and knowing that we’ve been a part of that is a great feeling for us.”

The schedule also includes a skate-specific (park and vert) stop in Boston in June, followed by a BMX-specific (park, dirt and vert) event in Chicago. The five-stop tour will then continue on to Portland, Salt Lake City and Las Vegas and will feature multi-sport events. Over the course of the five-stop schedule, athletes will compete to accumulate points based on their individual-event finishes, each vying for the most overall points and the title of Dew Cup champion.

Tickets for the 2010 Dew Tour will be on sale soon and will be available via the Rose Quarter Box Office, participating Safeway/TicketsWest locations, online at and by phone at 877.789.ROSE (7673). Visit for more information.
