Davis Cup Final nominated for sports event of the year
The dramatic Davis Cup World Final held last December at Portland’s Memorial Coliseum has been nominated for sports event of the year by SportsTravel magazine. Captained by Patrick McEnroe, Team USA’s Andy Roddick, James Blake and the Bryan brothers, supported by a raucous sell-out crowd, overwhelmed Russia to capture the title in the first Davis Cup final held in the U.S. in 15 years.
Please take a moment to vote for the Davis Cup, as well as the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials under the multi-sport category, and then pass the info on to your friends! Award winners will be announced at the TEAMS 2008 Conference & Expo in October, the world’s largest annual gathering for the sports event and sports-related travel industry. Help make Portland and the Davis Cup an award winner!
