Blazers revive RQ renewal
With the Rose Garden, fan sentiment and a winning record back in hand, the Portland Trail Blazers are again floating the idea of redeveloping the Rose Quarter, even testing the idea of retrofitting or razing nearby Memorial Coliseum.
Blazers Senior Vice President of Business Affairs J.E. Isaac has met with city commissioners to gauge leaders’ reaction to redeveloping the complex.
Team officials aren’t discussing specific proposals, but they acknowledged that the 48-year-old, city-owned Coliseum, along with nearby land controlled by team owner Paul Allen, could be targeted for new development.
