Blazers anchor Comcast effort
Comcast Corp. plans to air 55 Portland Trail Blazers games next season as part of a much-anticipated Oregon-focused sports cable channel scheduled to launch in October.
Now, the question is, what will Comcast broadcast the other 310 days of the year?
The new Portland-based Comcast SportsNet Northwest, whose channel number is yet to be determined, will be Comcast’s 11th regional sports network, including two — in Boston and San Francisco — that it partially owns. Negotiations surrounding the new cable network were reported in The Oregonian last month.
