Award Recognizes Coaches’ and Volunteers’ Contributions

Friends of Baseball (FOB) has partnered with the Portland Beavers and the Oregon Sports Authority Foundation to present the first annual Coach and Volunteer of the Year Awards to two individual honorees who have made a significant contribution to youth baseball and softball. These individuals will join a group of finalists from our region to celebrate what giving back to youth baseball means in our community.

The awards will be presented at the Beavers’ home games on June 2nd – Coach of the Year, 7:05 PM game time, and June 3rd – Volunteer of the Year, 2:05 PM game time, as part of the Beavers Youth Baseball weekend. Each recipient will receive a $1,000 check from FOB to support his or her respective team.

Teams located in Southwest Washington (north to Longview and east to Camas), the Portland metropolitan area, and Northwest Oregon (northern coast from Astoria to Lincoln City, south to Salem and east to The Dallas) were eligible to nominate candidates for the awards.
