Advisory Council
The Oregon Sports Authority Advisory Council (OSAAC) was created to engage young leaders of Oregon in something that matters deeply to them, SPORTS. View the OSAAC Blog.
MISSION
OSAAC works within the Oregon Sports Authority to position the state of Oregon as a preferred location for select amateur and professional sporting events, teams and related activities to stimulate the state’s economy, and enhance the state’s quality of life.
ORGANIZATION
An executive commission has been established to guide the OSAAC efforts and impact of its members. The executive commission meets on a monthly basis to discuss ways for OSAAC members to become involved with activities like the Dew Tour, Portland Action Sports Film Contest and the Lance Armstrong Foundation’s LIVESTRONG Challenge. OSAAC will host quarterly membership meetings to connect the members with the executive commission. Members can sign-up online any time.
PURPOSE
OSAAC has a number of purposes. First, we act in coordination and support of the Oregon Sports Authority and its mission. Second, through sporting events and related activities, OSAAC is committed to creating opportunities for its members to be active participants and volunteers in their community. Finally, OSAAC will promote and develop leadership, by utilizing its connection with the Oregon Sports Authority board to give tomorrow’s leaders a place and opportunity to create, develop and use leadership skills.
