At the 7th International Open Friendship Taekwondo Championships and Cultural Festival, athletes will be provided the rare opportunity to compete against Taekwondo participants from all over the country and the world. These IOFTC Championships have been hosted previously in Nepal, Hong Kong and India. This is the third IOFTC event that has been hosted in the USA, building on past successes as USA hosts of the 2004 and 2006 IOFTC events.
These Championships are sanctioned by the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) and USA Taekwondo (USAT), the National Governing Body for the Olympic sport of Taekwondo, recognized by the United States Olympic Committee (USOC).
Athletes competing in the 7th International Open Friendship Taekwondo Championships and Cultural Festival will be provided the rare opportunity to compete against Taekwondo participants from all over the country and the world. Olympic Sparring and Traditional Forms Competitions will be officiated by 41 WTF International Referees under WTF rules. This allows participants to gain valuable international competition experience in Portland!
The Championships and Cultural Festival promote friendship, goodwill, and competition between Taekwondo athletes. It is also a wonderful spectator sport for family and friends. Additionally, it creates opportunities to develop long-lasting friendships with others that share our great interest in and love of Taekwondo.
